About the Designer
Super Garden 2022 winner, Mary Anne Farenden, is a horticulture student and architecture graduate. She has a keen interest in naturally inspired gardens and a desire to communicate the many ways people of all ages can benefit from the wonders of gardening while creating a special space, big or small. Mary Anne takes an active role in building her gardens and hand-draws all her designs, making each one individual and unique.
Garden Overview
This winning design from Super Garden 2022 is a magical woodland-inspired garden with features for all the family. The design utilises logs, trees, Connemara walling, and abundant planting to create an established, naturalistic and relaxing feel.
With a covered deck, grassy-gated dog area, children’s play area, wildlife pond, relaxation area, and fruit patch, there is something for everyone to enjoy in the Enchanted Playland. At night the garden comes alive under a canopy of twinkly lights which illuminate the space. The planting includes a combination of ornamental perennials, grasses, evergreens, fungi and fruits.
