About the Garden - Concept Garden
This vibrant and fun-filled installation from designer Benny Magennis introduces us to Irene, the vivid orange blob-like monster with a multitude of bulging eyes, who is set to ooze across cinema screens this July.
Starring in ‘Minions & Monsters,’ the latest release in Illumination’s animated Minions’ franchise, Irene wreaks havoc when her gelatinous form is unleashed in Hollywood. In this blooming interpretation of the film, she looms large over a typical domestic garden, her voluminous body rising like a tsunami from the simple urban design.
Benny has collaborated with talented floral artists from the Institute of Flowers to create this towering sculpture of living flowers. Incorporating kalanchoes, alstroemerias, chrysanthemums, germinis, lilies and more, they bring Irene and the Minions to life in this unique planting scheme that celebrates the release of the next exciting instalment in this much-loved series.
About the Designer
Benny Magennis
Benny Magennis is one half of Benny Ogus Creative Studio, which he runs with his wife, Shelly. Together they create concepts, visualise spaces, and deliver innovative projects for private and governing bodies throughout Ireland and the UK through festival, hospitality and brand activations.
The studio collaborates with brands such as Festival Republic, Universal Pictures Ireland, Bord Bia, Electric Picnic Music & Arts, Download and Latitude Festivals in the UK, Bohemia Canvas, Slane Castle, Airbnb, and Selfridges. This is Benny’s fourth Show Garden at Bord Bia Bloom.
