Sustainability initiatives at Bord Bia Bloom

Each year at Bord Bia Bloom, we strive to make the festival even more sustainable in order to have as little an impact on the environment as possible. Below are some of the initiatives at Bloom 2024 and some new sustainability programmes you’ll see at Bloom 2025.

9,180 disposable cups diverted from waste via borrow scheme

4,000 reusable cups/bottles brought to Bord Bia Bloom by visitors

In 2024, over 1,300 visitors arrived at Bord Bia Bloom by bicycle

20k visitors travel to Bord Bia Bloom every year on public transport

500kg (1,200 meals) of food rescued by our partners FoodCloud

Our Green Team will help you segregate waste via the 3-bin system

In 2024, 450kg of food waste was processed via our biodigester systems

All free shuttle buses powered by HVO reducing carbon by 89%

Travelling by public transport, would save up to 77% on Emissions

Over 12,000 cans and bottles were donated to RE-TURN System

21k litres of water at hydration stations to refill reusable bottles

Visit the FoodCloud Kitchen which uses excess surplus ingredients

Donated 2 tonnes of coffee grounds to OPW for fertilising material
