Five fun-filled gardens at Bord Bia Bloom 2025

Creating engaging, educational and inspiring spaces for children has always been important to the team at Bord Bia Bloom and our Show Garden designers have delighted in creating fabulously fun gardens for our Budding Bloomers over the years. Here are a few of our favourite children’s gardens from 2025:

Universal Pictures Ireland’s How to Train Your Dragon Garden

Designed by Tünde Perry and Barry Kavanagh, this Concept Show Garden for Universal Pictures Ireland celebrated the launch of the live action film which was made in Northern Ireland. Featuring a large sculpture of the Dragon Toothless, it was a hit with young and old. See the garden

The Rainbow Brick Balcony Garden

LEGO lovers were thrilled with the Rainbow Brick Balcony Garden which was designed and built by Limerick artist, Gary Kirwan, as a tribute to LEGO, the iconic brick loved by millions of children and adults around the world. Bloom’s Show Garden judges were wowed too; they named it the Best Concept Show Garden and awarded it a gold medal. See the garden

Make-A-Wish Garden of Hope

This modern, naturalistic, and accessible garden, which was sponsored by Make-A-Wish Ireland and Smurfit Westrock Foundation, was designed by Linda McKeown to capture the magic and wonder Make-A-Wish brings to children across Ireland. A focal point was a handcrafted piece created by a wish child using a kiln they received in 2024. See the garden

Tusla Fostering’s Fostering Is For You Show Garden

This vibrant garden, designed by Bloom newcomer, Pip Probert, was a heartfelt tribute to the fostering community, symbolising unity, diversity, and connection. The message resonated with visitors who voted for the garden to win the People’s Choice Award. See the garden

‘Bee Happy’ Wildlife Garden

Designed by Debbie Brophy, this winning garden from RTÉ’s ‘Super Garden’ series was created for little explorers as a space where the family can play, learn about biodiversity, and simply ‘Bee Happy’ together. See the garden
