About the Garden - Large Show Garden
Originally designed for Bord Bia’s Easy Steps to Dream Gardens, this east-facing coastal garden has been created to suit our coastal environments. Designed to be robust, it will tolerate locations with windy conditions but it will also work just as well inland. It can be tailored to suit any household garden within our towns and cities or adapted for larger gardens in a country setting.
The design divides the garden into three main contrasting family spaces, each connected by interesting paving and softened with an array of easy to care for plants, hedges, and trees that are ideal for the novice gardener to manage. About the Designer
Designer Information
James Purdy is Founder of JP Architects & Landscape Design, an award-winning practice based in Belfast. The practice works closely with other skilled professionals to create exciting and meaningful projects that reconnect people with their environment.
James has always had an interest in designing and creating spaces which resonate and engage with the natural environment, landscapes and architecture. This is his fourth time participating in Bord Bia Bloom. He previously won gold medals for his Podscape Garden for Glenisk (2016) and The Healthy Way for Bord Bia and Healthy Ireland (2019).
